I love Pilates! I was certified as a Comprehensive Pilates Instructor through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) in Costa Mesa, CA in 2011. I also earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2011. Since having my first baby Mira McKenzie in 2018 i found myself using Pilates to strengthen my core and pelvic floor.
You can find her trail running powerline, biking to Marlette, and e-foiling on Lake Tahoe in between helping her patients return to doing the things they love too.

Lara Townsend
As a fourth-generation Nevadan, I’m grateful to call Lake Tahoe my home for the past decade. Born and raised in Reno, NV, my family and I spent countless summers at our cabin here, soaking in the tranquility of this majestic town and its community.
I’ve been an athlete my entire life, starting with tennis at age 10. I competed nationally as a junior and earned a full-ride scholarship to play Division 1 tennis at Purdue University, where I graduated in 2006.
After college, I started my hospitality career with Marriott International in Marina del Rey, CA. Living just steps from the beach in that lively, active community sparked my passion for wellness and movement.
In 2016, my husband and I relocated from the South bay to Tahoe full time. During my search for physical therapy, I discovered Mindbody. I immediately connected with Christina and started taking her Pilates classes as well. Today, while working in property management, I dedicate some of my time to assisting at the front desk here. I’m excited to be a part of the Mindbody team and proud to support their mission of healing and strengthening the body through physical therapy and Pilates
